BELTON, TX - A press conference is scheduled for August 11th, 2016 at noon to announce the newest and only professional team in the Fort Hood/Central Texas area. The new team will play in the Bell County Expo Center and will have its games carried on the Eversport Sports Network worldwide. In a bold step to strengthen the Champions Indoor Football brand in Texas, the CIF announced today that the league has awarded a franchise to Belton, Texas. The deal means return of the indoor football game to the Central Texas area beginning with the 2017 season. Champions Indoor Commissioner Randy Sanders and the Centex Cavalry staff Tim White and Ronald Oswalt will be on hand to answer questions concerning the inaugural season. The event will be held in the VIP/Partnership area of the Bell County Expo Center. The team logo, colors and more will be revealed at that time. Media are encouraged to arrive early, due to the expected high attendance. Team leadership along with the league commissioner will be on hand to answer questions about the new franchise and plans for future community involvements and endeavors. The major goal for the team in year one will be an unending commitment to putting a family friendly product on the field and in the community. The CIF consist of northern and southern divisions. The northern teams are 2016 champion Wichita. Omaha, Bloomington, Sioux City, Chicago and Salina. The southern teams include Texas (Allen, TX), Amarillo, Dodge City, Duke City (Albuquerque, NM), San Angelo and Mesquite. There will be a good set of future rivalries in the southern division for the Fightin ¬â¢ Cavalry in their inaugural season.
