EL PASO 8, SHREVEPORT 5 @ Shreveport, La. Time: 2:31 ATT: 909 W: Chris Flanagan (1-4) L: Jason Benson (1-2) S: Derrick DePriest (7) HR: EP - Ben Rosenthal (3)
Shreveport scored all five runs in the second inning to take a quick lead, but El Paso countered with a four-run third and added on in the next three innings to take an 8-5 lead that would stand as the final score. The Diablos pulled ahead in the fifth thanks to a solo home run by C Ben Rosenthal, and RF Carlos Sepulveda and SS Carlos Castillo also contributed two RBI for El Paso. RF Jose Rivas did the most damage for Shreveport, driving in three with a bases-loaded double in the five-run second. El Paso claimed the series victory with the win in this third and decisive game.
COASTAL BEND 7, JACKSON 3 @ Robstown, Texas. Time: 2:59 ATT: 2,162 W: Jose Lopez (3-3) L: Daniel Hearn (0-1) S: None HR: CB - Jack Joffrion, Matt Mann
SS Jack Joffrion and DH Mike Guerrero drove in two runs apiece and starter Jose Lopez allowed three runs in seven innings as Coastal Bend claimed the rubber game of a three-game series with Jackson. Joffrion's two-run shot in the first inning started things off for the Aviators, who scored three more in the third on an RBI single by 3B Ben Tinius and a two-run double off Guerrero's bat and plated another pair in the fourth, thanks in part to CF Matt Mann's homer to left. Four Senators had two-hit nights, but Jackson could only push three across, one on a single by RF Vince Faison in the fifth and two more in the sixth due to a single by 3B Carlos Brackley and RBI groundout by SS Jared Boyd. Daniel Hearn took the loss for Jackson, allowing two runs in two innings of work.
