CCBL Playoffs Begin Friday
Published on August 3, 2011 under Cape Cod League (Cape Cod) News Release
CAPE COD, Mass. - August has suddenly arrived and tourists have descended upon the Cape like locusts, so that means the Cape Cod Baseball League playoffs are right around the corner.
Harwich, Orleans and Hyannis have all nailed down home field advantage during the first round of the eight-team CCBL Playoffs and each will host a game one Friday at 7 p.m.
The other spot for first round home field in the West is still up for grabs between Bourne and Wareham and a deadlock would necessitate using a tiebreaker protocol.
Brewster and Yarmouth-Dennis have also nailed down playoff spots in the East, while Falmouth is three points ahead of Cotuit for the final playoff spot in the West.
Regarding the final spot in the West, there would not be a play-in game in the event of a tie for fourth place, but rather the tie-breaker scenario will prevail.
