For the first time this season, Player of the Week awards in both the American and National leagues went to former Cape Cod Baseball League players.

Seattle third baseman Kyle Seager (Orleans, 2007-08) was the AL winner for his outstanding play during the week of June 23-29 when he hit .583 with two home runs and eight RBIs in six games. San Francisco right-hander Tim Lincecum(Harwich, 2005) took NL honors for the same time period after pitching his second career no-hitter against the San Diego Padres on June 25.

Seager is a two-time winner this season, having also been selected for the week of April 21-27 when he shared the AL honor with Jose Abreu of the Chicago White Sox. For Lincecum, it was his third career Player of the Week award. He won previously for the weeks of Aug. 2, 2009, and July 14, 2013.
