Kaleb Zimmer is walked and scored of off Christian Cavaness's walk-off hit to center field to bring in the final run in the Cavemen's 3-2 victory over the Quincy Gems after eleven innings. After a protest in the sixth and another discrepancy in the eleventh by Hannibal coaches, confusion over league rules for the coaching staff prolonged a game that had already gone into extra innings. Hannibal's Brandon Bentson doubled and scored on Jeff Smith's single early in the second inning. Bret Peel was walked and scored for Quincy when Kyle Cedotal singled in the seventh. In the top of the tenth, Cedotal bunted and reached first base on a fielding error, later scoring on Ryan Light's line drive single to center after Cassidy Brown and Dominic Miles loaded the bases. In the bottom of tenth, Cavaness tied up the game scoring the second run for the Cavemen on Tyler Bethune's single to right field after Cavaness walked and stole second. Jake Eikleberry for Hannibal and Mitch Weis for Quincy, the starting pitchers, both threw 7 innings with one hit each and six and eight strikeouts, respectively. In the fifth inning, Christian Cavaness doubles to right field, hitting the farthest ball for the Cavemen this season.
