Carolina Bombers Football Announces Operation In the World Indoor Football League

Raleigh, NC - The Carolina Bombers Football Club announced formal operations in Raleigh, NC this week. The franchise will be playing in the newly created World Indoor Football League, a league that was launched to become the nations premier minor league indoor football operation. The WIFL mission is to find motivated, financially stable ownership groups to partner with the league and its efforts in each city.

The Bombers will be playing their home games in Raleigh's Dorton Arena when their season begins in February of 2007. Dorton Arena recently played host to the Raleigh Rebels indoor football team and will serve as the backdrop for an exciting combination of high quality football and family driven entertainment.

Carolina, along with seven other southeastern-based franchises, will be positioned as minor league franchises to larger professional leagues in the US. Details on scheduling, division breakdowns and playoff procedures are being finalized during the next few weeks and will be available on the Bombers web site.

The team is preparing to initiate a full scale marketing and advertising effort in the Triangle market and will shortly be announcing plans for a mascot, and dance team as well as identifying local enterprise partners and team sponsors. Team owner and league founder Harry Pierce stated, "The Triangle is a wonderful area and has shown amazing support for its sports teams, it was an obvious choice for one of the leagues' inaugural franchises, we are excited to call the Triangle home."

In preparation for the 2007 season the Bombers will be beginning a promotional tour to coincide with the NFL season, visiting local fairs, sporting events, bars and restaurants with schedules, ticketing information and promotional items. These outings will include dance team, mascot and player appearances as well as education for fans unfamiliar with the indoor football format, rules and strategies.
