Vancouver Whitecaps News Release
The Whitecaps exploded with three goals in 13 minutes in the second half to storm to a 3-0 win over the visiting Mile High Edge. Kara Lang led the onslaught with two goals off devastating headers, while Tiffeny Milbrett added a single.
While the Edge are off to a good start this W-League season, they were no match for the Caps, who outshot the visitors to 32 to 4, and that despite a lackluster first half from Vancouver. Erin McLeod picked up her third shutout of the season, making only one easy save on four shots.
Vancouver's record is now 5-0-0 for 15 points; as they move back into first place overall in the W-League. Mile High drop to 3-2-0 and sit second in the West.
The Whitecaps now play four straight on the road starting Thursday, June 15 against the Real Colorado Cougars as the team embarks on their annual Colorado road trek. The next home game is Sunday June 25, against the Fort Collins Force.

Portland Timbers 0 Vancouver Whitecaps 0
Saturday, June 10, 2006 PGE Park, Portland, OR (attendance: 6,298)
Overview: The Whitecaps turned in a strong performance playing away to the Portland Timbers as they battled to a 0-0 draw. Vancouver had the better of the chances, including a first-half shot from Joey Gjertsen that by all accounts crossed the line, but which wasn't ruled a goal by the officiating crew. Steve Kindel was also robbed of a goal in the final minute by a great save by the Portland goalkeeper.
Goalkeeper Tony Caig only had to make one save on seven shots to earn his third shutout of the season.
Vancouver's record goes to 3W-1L-6T for 15 point, as the Caps remain in second place in the USL First Division, level on points with Portland but with a game in hand. The Timbers are now 4-4-3.
The Whitecaps continue on the road for three more games, as they head on an Eastern swing starting Thursday in Virginia Beach against the Mariners. They return home for a Sunday, June 25 clash with the Puerto Rico Islanders.
