Cane Cutters Strengthen Roster with 3 SEC Additions

Youngsville, LA- Cane Cutters ink 3 from the Southeastern Conference: RHP Austin Bain, LHP John Kutac, and OF Connor Stutts.

LSU's Austin Bain is set to join the Cane Cutters for the 2017 campaign. The junior from Geismar, LA has 58 career appearances with an overall record of 7-3 for the Tigers. In 2017, Bain is posting a 1-0 record with 17 appearances, 24 innings pitched, and 30 strikeouts. The righty is simply a competitor with a fastball that consistenly sits in the 90 mph range and a plus breaking ball that he commands very well.

Kutac is currently in his first season with Texas A&M. The lefty from San Antonio, Texas was a two year letterman for the Rangers at Smithson Valley High School. As a junior, Kutac compiled a 6-2 record with a 2.08 ERA and 59 strikeouts. His impressive stat line landed him on the All-District 25-6A First Team and the 2015 San Antonio High School All-Star Team.

Sophomore Connor Stutts will be joining the Cane Cutters from the University of Alabama. The Notre Dame transfer had a .302 slugging % and .316 on base % with 2 homeruns as a freshman for the Fighting Irish. Prior to Notre Dame, Stutts attended Westminster High School in Atlanta, GA earning 4 varsity letters. He also helped WHS reach the state semifinals in both his junior and senior year.
