
Cane Cutters Sign Two Pitchers from UNO

Lafayette, La. - With the Cane Cutters' first game day inching closer, Acadiana is adding two University of New Orleans Privateers to the pitching rotation. Pitchers Tyler LeBlanc and Michael Kokoszka will be joining the Acadiana Cane Cutters this summer. Bringing these players to Acadiana will be a great asset to the Cane Cutters' roster, and it will be a chance for local fans to watch one of their hometown players. It is excited to bring in these up-and-coming players from yet another great university in the state of Louisiana.
The left-hander, Tyler LeBlanc, is a freshman from Lafayette, Louisiana. He attended Lafayette High School, where he pitched 66 strikeouts in 57.1 innings for the Lions. During his high school career, his stellar performance landed him a spot as a 5A Louisiana All-Star, and he made All-State and First Team All-District in 2019. This year, for the UNO Privateers, Tyler has played in 9 games and pitched 23 strikeouts. In his most recent game with the Privateers, Tyler recorded his first win of the season, pitching a total of 5 innings and only allowing 3 hits against Central Arkansas.
The sophomore right-handed pitcher, Michael Kokoszka, is originally from Westmont, Illinois, and attended Westmont High School. Michael got Interstate Eight All-Conference honors with the Westmont Sentinels, and he tied for a team-high 21 RBIs in 2018. The right-hander had a total of 3 wins as a pitcher for the Sentinels and tallied up 40 strikeouts over 29.1 innings pitched in 2018. Before joining the UNO Privateers, Michael played ball for the Rend Lake Warriors in Ina, Illinois. He appeared in three games, with the Warriors pitching 14.2 innings and earning 17 strikeouts.
The Acadiana Cane Cutters will host their 2021 home opener on Tuesday, June 8th, against the San Antonio Flying Chanclas at Fabacher Field. All home games will begin at 7:00 pm and will be broadcast live on TCL TV.
