
Cane Cutters Sign LSU Pitcher Matthew Beck

YOUNGSVILLE, La - The Cane Cutters are excited to announce that Matthew Beck will be joining the team for the 2018 season.
RHP Beck (sophomore)- Beck is from Alexandria, LA and attended Alexandria High School. Beck has played at LSU for the past two seasons. He has an excellent fastball that sits in the 90-mph range. During his 2017 season, Beck made 20 appearances and two starts, sporting 21 strikeouts as well. In his 2018 season, he made 23 appearances with two starts. Averaging less than one hit an inning with ERA of 3.67. He also recorded 45 strikeouts and with an opposing batting average of .195.
"He is a big strong kid. LSU wants to see how he will handle a starting role and we are happy to accommodate that. He has great stuff" says Cane Cutter's Owner Richard Chalmers on Beck.
