Cane Cutters Shutout Strykers, 7-0 in Game 1

The Acadiana Cane Cutters got a big night from Hunter Speer and a big inning from their bats to shutout the Woodlands Strykers, 7-0 to grab game 1 of the doubleheader. The Strykers came back to top the Cutters in game 2 by a final of 6-3.

Trenton Buchhorn from UT-Tyler led the Cutters offense in game 1 with two hits and two RBI's in the victory.

Hunter Speer from Nichols State was masterful on the hill for Acadiana going all seven innings for his first complete game shutout of the season scattering just five hits on the night.

The Cutters and Strykers will wrap up their series in Woodlands tomorrow night at 7pm.

The UL Media Challenge will be on August 9th back home at Fabacher Field. All Ragin Cajun students who show their ID will receive a $3 ticket to the game and with any kind of UL gear on, you'll receive $2 beers all night.
