Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release
Each summer, college baseball players from different universities showcase their skills in summer collegiate leagues scattered throughout the nation. After the 2013 season, Baseball America, a reputable baseball only publication that covers the sport at every level, searched 21 different collegiate circuits and assembled their list of the top professional prospects from each league. Of the 200 plus Texas Collegiate League athletes, Cane Cutters' shortstop Logan Taylor, from Texas A&M University, fit the bill as the TCL's most promising prospect.
The All-TCL shortstop was a player that Acadiana leaned heavily on in 2013. He routinely displayed his all around skillset that cast him apart from the rest of the pack in the TCL. On the season, Taylor had a batting average of .339, a slugging percentage of .463, and a fantastic on-base percentage of .445, good enough for tops in the league. Taylor also showed his power blasting 3 homeruns and bringing in 29 RBI. Just as impressive as his gaudy numbers at the plate was Taylor's base running ability. He was able to swipe seventeen bags throughout the summer which was second on the team.
