Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release

Lafayette, La. - The Acadiana Cane Cutters came up short to the Brazos Valley Bombers 5-0. This lost split the series between the two teams this weekend. Hitting was the main struggle for the Cane Cutters tonight. However, Acadiana continued to improve on the mound.

Chipper Menard (UL Lafayette) had an amazing performance against the Bombers tonight. Chipper pitched 4.1 innings and sat down 11 batters on strikeouts. However, the team as a whole gave up 8 hits against the Bombers. Acadiana couldn't match the Bombers as the Cane Cutters only had 3 hits on the night. The Acadiana Cane Cutters will look to turn the ship around starting next week when they get another opportunity to compete against the Bombers.

Along with Chipper's standout performance, Chris Noble (ULM) also had a good outing. Chris was hot tonight at the plate as he went 2 for 2 with 2 singles. Will Veillon (BRCC) showed some speed while adding a stolen base to the stats sheet.

The Cane Cutters look to bounce back at home next week with games against the Brazos Valley Bombers on Thursday and then host the Amarillo Sod Squad in a two game weekend series.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters will play again on Thursday, June 17th, against the Brazos Valley Bombers at Fabacher Field. All home games will begin at 7:00 pm and will be broadcast live on TCL TV.
