Cane Cutters Doubleheader Wednesday at Fabacher
August 9, 2011 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL)
Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release
As the Texas Collegiate League winds down regular season play, the Cane Cutters will take on the Coppell Copperheads in a Wednesday night doubleheader at Fabacher Field. Both games will consist of 7 innings and the first pitch is scheduled for 6 pm. The first game will be a makeup for a rainout last month.
The Cane Cutters defeated the Copperheads in an afternoon scorcher today in Texas by a score of 11-3. Troy Sutherland went 4 innings on the mound and Jordan McCoy finished out the last 5 while working in 109 degree temperature to hold off Coppell, forcing the makeup game to be necessary with playoff pairings on the line. LSU's Grant Dozar and Jacob Derouen of LA Tech both went 3 for 5 at the plate, while the Alabama duo of Andrew Miller and Taylor Dugas were both 2 for 4.
Gates will open at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, one hour before game time. Wednesday night is Ladies' Night at Fabacher - $1 margaritas with wine specials (both games)!!
