
Cane Cutters Defeat Woodlands Strykers, 16-4; Sweep Series

The Cane Cutters swept the Woodland Strykers in a two-game series following a dominant 16-4 victory in the Woodlands on Wednesday.
Five runs in the first two innings helped the Cane Cutters jump to a 5-1 lead, but Acadiana didn't stop there. A run in the fourth, two in the fifth and six runs in the sixth helped the Cane Cutters jump to a nearly insurmountable lead.
The Strykers were able to score four runs, but it wasn't nearly enough to compete with Acadiana potent offense.
Texas A&M's Trey Jimmerson hit three of his four at bat and Jaylon Keys, out of Meridian Community College, hit three of his five at bat and led the team in RBI's with four. Wilmer Nunez, out of Ranger Community College was awarded the win for Acadiana.
The Cane Cutters return home on Thursday to take on the Brazos Valley Bombers at 7 p.m. Thursday is Thirsty Thursday at Fabacher Field, where a 10 oz. beer is $1 all night.
