Canadian Premier League to Release Full Schedules on February 21

Toronto, ON - The Canadian Premier League is excited to announce that they will be releasing the 2020 8-Club schedule on Friday, February 21. The 2nd season includes HFX Wanderers, Atlético Ottawa, Forge FC, York9 FC, Valour FC, Cavalry FC, FC Edmonton and Pacific FC.
With the addition of Atlético Ottawa the CPL has been able to generate a more balanced schedule for all Clubs. Taking fan and supporter feedback into consideration, the overall schedule has undergone some exciting changes including:
o Over 90% of the matches will be played on holidays or weekends in 2020,
o Weeknight matches focused around summer nights
The regular season will start April 11th, 2020 and end on October 3rd, 2020 and each Club will play 28 matches - 14 Home/14 Away. The season kick-offs a rematch of last year's inaugural CPL Finals between Forge FC and Cavalry FC. Home Openers for this season are:

"Not only are we going to have a more balanced schedule, we are starting to establish a weekend culture for our fans with twenty-one Friday night matches and we have an eighth team for fans and supporters to come out and see both home and away. We are focused on establishing match-day traditions through our schedule that our supporters will want to adopt for this season and the seasons to come."
