PHILADELPHIA, PA - The Philadelphia Soul (6-4) defeated the Washington Valor (1-9) at Capital One Arena with a score of 63-28. The Soul defense forced a scoreless Valor offense through the 2nd half as the team recorded their largest win of the season with a 35-point victory. There is still a chance at the 1 seed, but the Soul will need some help from the Albany Empire with a victory over the 1st place Baltimore Brigade tonight.

The Soul defense showed no mercy to the Valor in the 2nd half of the game with many players contributing to hindering the Valor offense. Defensive Player of the Game, DB Dwayne Hollis, recorded a high of 12.5 tackles and 1 fumble recovery for 11 yards. Hollis now shares the 2nd place slot for total tackles at 55 with Albany's Terence Moore. Soul DB James Romain recorded the only Soul interception of the game along with 1 pass breakup and LB Joe Goosby totaled 2 pass breakup's and 2 fumble recoveries, including one in the end zone for a Soul touchdown. Valor QB Arvell Nelson was pressured by the Soul defensive line throughout the game after being sacked by defensive linemen Jake Metz, Willie McGinnis, and Thomas Dover.
Soul QB Shane Austin led the offense with 11 completions on 18 attempts for 174 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Soul FB Jeramie Richardson led the Soul in scoring with 5rushes for 37 yards and his personal season-high of 4 rushing touchdowns. Richardson is now the league rushing leader with 125 total rushing yards and 8 touchdowns this season. WR Darius Prince once again topped the Soul receivers chart with 7 receptions for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns. Prince leads the league in receiving yards (982) and number of receptions (80). Not far behind was Soul Week 10 receiving star Aaron Wascha, who recorded 4 receptions for 85 yards and 2 touchdowns. In the Soul's thrilling last-second win against Albany last week, Wascha totaled 12 receptions for 207 yards and 7 touchdowns.
Coming up in Week 12, the Soul are home in Philadelphia for their regular-season home-game finale at the Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, June 30th. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
