The Buffalo Stampede has officially joined the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League (ACPBL). The Buffalo Stampede is entering the teams third season of professional basketball play and this upcoming season will mark the teams first season of play in the Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League.
The Stampede is owned and operated by Buffalo Pro Hoops Inc. with Buffalo native Vincent Lesh entering into his third season in the front office serving as team president. Lesh has brought in a new face for the teams third season of professional play by announcing that Richard Anselmo has been appointed as the teams "Managing Partner" and will assist Vincent Lesh with the team's finances while Anselmo also takes over the majority of the teams day to day operations.
"I have been carrying the majority of the load the past two seasons in the front office and it has been taxing at times," stated team president Vincent Lesh. "We have a track record in which we have NEVER missed a scheduled game but at the end of the day it's about more then just meeting basic obligations, it's about winning a championship for the great city of Buffalo, NY and I feel that Richard Anselmo will help guide us in that direction."
The Buffalo Stampede front office is currently working to secure the Division-2 facility's of Daemen College as the teams new home this season and when the Stampede take to the hard wood for the teams third season of play it will take a place in the history books of Buffalo professional sports as the Stampede will become the longest tenured Buffalo professional basketball team since the former NBA's Buffalo Braves had an eight year run in the city. The Buffalo Stampede of the ACPBL (Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League) will have an open try-out on Saturday August 14th, 2010 from 11am till 2pm at Daemen College, for more information on the try-out visit www.buffalostampedepbl.com .
"We accepted the Buffalo Stampede into the league because they have two full seasons of play under their belt already and the teams front office is stronger and more stable then it has ever been," stated ACPBL commissioner James Schutz.
The Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League is a top-flight minor league professional basketball league that is set to play its inaugural season in 2010-2011 in cities up and down the Atlantic Coast. The ACPBL was created for existing and expansion franchises who wish to take the level of minor league basketball to new heights that have only previously been seen in the NBA's D-league.
