Bucks Streak Snapped in Shutout Loss To Missouri

LAREDO, TX - The Laredo Bucks of the Central Hockey League fell to the Missouri Mavericks 1-0 Friday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center. The loss snapped the Bucks two-game winning streak as they fall to 12-5-4 (28 points).

Doug Groenestege stopped all 33 shots he faced in earning the shutout win for the Mavericks.

Karl Sellan scored a power-play goal with 4:52 left in the third period to snap the scoreless tie and give Missouri the win in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.

J.P Levasseur stopped 29 of 30 shots as he suffered the hard-luck loss.

Laredo falls to 7-2-3 at home this season, as they have been shutout in both of their regulation losses at the LEC.

Neither team was able to light the lamp in the first period as the game was scoreless after 20 minutes of play.

Each team put up 14 shots in the first period.

The second period mirrored the first as neither team could take the advantage keeping it scoreless after 40 minutes.

The Bucks outshot the Mavericks 11-7 in the second period, and 33-30 for the game.

The Bucks failed to get their 300 win in franchise history, as they are stuck on 299.

Laredo will play in Allen Saturday night at 7:30pm.
