Brown Approaches 2,000 Point Mark
Published on February 7, 2003 under Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I) News Release
NEW YORK â Indiana's "Touchdown" EDDIE BROWN needs 14 points this Sunday vs. the New York Dragons to become only the second player in AFL history to score 2,000 career points, joining San Jose SaberCats WR/DB BARRY WAGNER (2,172). Last week at Detroit, the offensive specialist recorded four receptions for 44 yards and two touchdowns and returned a kickoff 45 yards for another score. Brown is the only player to score more than 250 points in three-or-more seasons (five total). He has led the League in scoring six times in his eight-year career, the most by any AFL player.
When San Jose travels to Los Angeles this Sunday to face the Avengers, SaberCats lineman SAM HERNANDEZ will be on the prowl for Los Angeles quarterback TONY GRAZIANI. The 10-year veteran needs 1.0 sack to become the first player in AFL history to reach 50.0 career.
