January 6, 2009 - Premier Basketball League (PBL) News Release

Chicago, IL - Halifax Rainmen forward Brian Silverhorn was named PBL Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Silverhorn, playing his second season with the Rainmen, received Player of the Week honors as he averaged a team-high 21.5ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.0 apg while shooting 60% on three-pointers in two games this week.

"This is a great honor as there are a lot of really talented players in this league, and on our team," said Silverhorn. "Anyone could have been named player of the week, so it's awesome for me to be the one selected."

"It's great to see Brian has been selected as this week's player of the week," said Rainmen Head Coach Rick Lewis. "Brian worked really heard in the off-season to raise the level of his game and his focus. I feel this selection is well deserved."

Rainmen Owner Andre Levingston stated, "Brian is playing at an extremely high level this year. He will be a premier player in this league this season."
