Brian Karalunas Named MLL Warrior Defensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, OHIO - Major League Lacrosse today announced that Ohio Machine long-stick midfielder Brian Karalunas has been named the Warrior Defensive Player of the Week for Week 4.

Karalunas led the Machine defense on Saturday that allowed just 10 goals to the New York Lizards in a 22-10 victory at Ohio Dominican University. The Lizards, defending MLL champions, entered the contest averaging 19.5 goals scored per game.

Karalunas recorded four ground balls and earned his first point of the season, a goal in the second quarter that tied the game at 6-6. He ranks first among non-face off specialists in MLL and third overall with 18 ground balls.

The Defensive Player of the Week award is the second of the season for Ohio. Goalie Adam Fullerton earned the honor in Week 1.
