
Bombers Take Game 1

Acadiana Cane Cutters News Release
The Cane Cutters first home playoff game as a host did not go as planned as they lose game one 14-0.
The Brazos Valley Bombers started early and would not stop after 3 runs after the first inning.
The starting pitcher for the Cane Cutters was Russell Reynolds (LSU). His night was short as he pitched 2.1 innings, with 5 hits, 6 runs scored, and a strikeout. The following pitcher, Devontae Wilson (Southeastern) was the most efficient pitcher on the night as he pitched 3.2 innings; allowing 5 hits and three runs.
3 more pitchers would travel to the mound as the Bombers did not stop hitting.
The top of the order for the Cane Cutters was not productive as leadoff hitter Zac Kutsulis (Notre Dame) was 0-2. Daniel Keating (Southern Miss), the second batter, was 1-5 and the last of the top of the order, Chance Vincent (University of Alabama) was 2-3.
In the sixth inning the Bombers scored 2 runs which was followed by a 3 run inning in the top of the seventh. The Bombers would cap off the scoring with 2 runs in the top of the eighth.
The starting pitcher for the Bombers, Heston Van Fleet, was excellent all night as he pitched 7 innings; allowing no runs, 5 hits, and a strikeout.2 more Bombers pitchers would combine for 2 innings of no runs allowed.
After tonights game, the Cane Cutters travel to College Station to face the Brazos Valley Bombers in game 2 starting tomorrow night at 7 pm.
