Bolts Snap Five Game Losing Skid

Anaheim Bolts News Release

Anaheim, CA- (January 28, 2012)- The Anaheim Bolts snapped its losing streak in style with an emphatic 17-3 victory over the Arizona Storm (who quietly changed their name from the Phoenix Monsoon this week) at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena.

Fans were treated to a goal-fest as five different Bolts found the back of the net more than once. Tomislav Colic recorded his second hat-trick of the season, but the match ball goes to newcomer Felipe Gonzales. The former All-American at Evergreen College struck four-goals in just his second ever professional match.

While he did not get in the goal column, Noe Torres had a stellar match. The 23-year-old set the pace early on by winning balls in midfield and immediately surging forward to cause chaos in the Storm's defense end. Torres set the tone for the match as the Bolts fed off his energy.

At the other end, Jesus Molina gave up just three goals on 11 shots as the Bolts kept the storm off the board in the 3rd quarter.

"The biggest difference tonight was our movement off the ball," goal-keeper coach Jeff Tackett said after the match. "Our guys never stood still and made intelligent runs."

The Bolts improve to 4-7 on the season and pretty much need to win its final five matches in order to make the play-offs. It won't be easy as the Bolts next travel to Tacoma for a pair of matches with the Stars on February 11 and 12, but tonight set the tone for the rest of the season.
