Bolts Outclassed By Sockers
Anaheim, CA - The two-time defending PASL champions showed why they are the class of the league, with a 13-6 win over the Anaheim Bolts.
With the score 2-1 after the first quarter, San Diego scored the next seven goals to put the result well beyond doubt long before the final buzzer.
Reigning MVP Kraig Chiles had five goals and Eric Wunderle added a hat-trick to keep San Diego perfect on the season at 6-0.
The Sockers are now unbeaten in their last 20 games and improved its all-time record at the Del Mar Arena to 28-0.
The Bolts were running on tired legs following last night's heartbreaking 14-13 loss to Tijuana. On the bright side, Enrique Tovar continues to top the Bolts scoring charts, adding another hat trick to his resume. Rafael Gaytan, meanwhile, is proving to be an inspired signing as he added a further two goals in the losing effort. Miguel Sanchez scored the Bolts other goal.
Despite the large margin of victory, the I-5 rivalry became even more heated with a bench clearing brawl in the fourth quarter which resulted in red cards for Anaheim's Brennan Tennelle and San Diego's Eduardo Velez.
Anaheim will now have a week to rest up before traveling to Mexico for a rematch with Revolucion Tijuana next Saturday.
