Bolts Bounce Back with Dominant 10-2 Win in Sacramento

December 2, 2012 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) - Anaheim Bolts News Release

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Anaheim Bolts bounced back from Friday's heartbreaking overtime defeat to Turlock with an impressive 10-2 win over hosts Sacramento Surge on Saturday. The victory never seemed in doubt for Head Coach Bernie Lilavois' men, who got four goals from All League First Teamer Adriano de Lima and improved to 3-2 on the PASL campaign.

Keen to reverse their recent trend of underperforming early in matches, the Bolts came out on fire in the opening quarter, grabbing a quick 4-0 lead behind tallies from Jose Gomez, Miguel Sanchez, De Lima and Zach Bautista. The second period saw the two sides play to a more even affair, with Sanchez scoring for Anaheim and Sacramento 's Niko Brioso doing well to round goalkeeper Mike McAndrwes on a breakaway and cut the hosts' halftime deficit to 5-1.

The Bolts returned to their dominant ways in the game's third period, which they won 3-1 for an 8-2 overall lead. Gomez, debutant Oscar Reyes and De Lima tallied before Ato Leone pulled one back for the Surge. Reyes' strikes was one of the highlights of the quarter, as the midfieler forced a turnover from the opposition netminder and slotted into the open net for his first in an Anaheim uniform. De Lima's tally was also memorable, the Brazilian firing a long-range rocket into the upper ninety during a Bolts powerplay.

De Lima provided more offensive fireworks during the game's closing period, in which he rounded off the 10-2 final score line with another pair of goals that included a beautiful chip over the Sacramento backstop following a layoff by Jayro Martinez.

While the Surge looks to end its five-game losing streak in its road clash with Tacoma on December 8, Anaheim returns home on Sunday, December 9, for a crucial 4 p.m. PT meeting with Turlock Expres. Tickets for the contest start at $12 and may be purchased through Ticketmaster or the Anaheim Convention Center Arena box office.
