Bobcats Beat Blizzard 4-2 at Home

The Blizzard got off to s strong start Saturday night at home against Bismarck but were unable to hold a lead and fell to the Bobcats 4-2.

In the first period the Blizzard got on the board first when Jeff Flicker scored his third goal of the season at the 5:59 mark. Conrad Sampair and Brandon Parker were credited with the assists.

Late in the period the Blizzard would go on a power play after Cullen Willox was called for roughing. Nick DeCenzo would make the most of it, scoring with just 45 seconds left in the period. Defenseman Victor Munter and forward Conrad Sampair assisted on the play.

The Blizzard had a two-goal lead going into the second period but the Bobcats would answer early when Dan Kovar scored at the 3:14 mark. Matt Anders would tie the game at two as the teams headed to the locker room for the second intermission.

In the final frame the Bobcats would score twice with goals from Jacob McDowell at the 6:17 mark and a short-handed goal from Huba Sekesi with just under six minutes to play.

Aaron Nelson would get the victory in net for the Bobcats with 27 saves, while Connor Girard had 23 saves on the night for the Blizzard.

The Blizzard will be back in action this Saturday night when they head to Bismarck to take on the Bobcats for their lone game this weekend. Puck drops at 7:15pm and can be seen on Fasthockey.com or listened to it on 107.1 The Hawk.
