Blazers And Habitat For Humanity To Slam Dunk Together
December 16, 2009 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Bluefield, WV. The ABA West Virginia Blazers and Habitat for Humanity to raise monies for the 600th Habitat for Humanity house in the state of West Virginia have joined together for "The WV Blazers Slam Dunk 600" on March 12th at Ripley High School in Ripley WV. The Blazers will play against a team of community leaders to raise funds for the house to be constructed in Jackson County WV.
"We are very pleased to partner with Habitat for Humanity; they are a wonderful organization that provides affordable homes to families who would otherwise not have them - and it's all done through volunteers," stated Cindy Preast, GM of the team.
The Blazers will also be donating a "day" to the 600th house to help with actual construction. The "Groundbreaking Ceremony" was held in October and the Blazers were pleased to be part of this important community event. For more information, visit www.wvblazers.com or visit www.abalive.com.
