Baltimore Blackbirds News Release
Baltimore - April 5, 2007. The Baltimore Blackbirds announced today they have added former Baltimore Raven Marques Ogden to their staff as an Assistant Coach.
"Marques has proven himself to be asset to the team assisting on an ad-hoc basis, but we are excited to now have him as a full member of our staff. Our arrangement enables the Blackbirds to gain the benefit of Marques' experience, while allowing him to still pursue his playing career in the NFL. I think you will see a drastic improvement in our line play with Marques being more actively involved," said Baltimore Blackbirds General Manager John Wolfe.
Ogden, who is originally from Washington D.C. attended St. Johns College High School in Northwest D.C. He attended Howard University from 1998-2003. He has spent four years in the NFL with the Jaguars, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens. Following the untimely and sudden death of his father, Ogden sat-out the 2006 season, but is currently considering several options for his return to the NFL.
Ogden has coached at his former high school and also served as an assistant with the Hamburg Sea Devils of NFL Europe under Head Coach Jack Bicknell. Marques is the brother of Jonathan Ogden, the ten-time Pro Bowl Left Tackle and the 4th overall pick of the Baltimore Ravens in the 1996 NFL draft.
