Huntington Heroes News Release

It might get a little hot in the Veterans Memorial Field House at 7 p.m this Saturday as the Huntington Heroes try to melt the Erie Freeze.

The two top standing teams in the AIFL Northern Conference, Huntington 2-0 and Erie 3-0, will face off vying for lone possession of first place.

The Huntington Heroes have had great success in the early season and are coming off a win at the previously unbeaten Johnstown Riverhawks. They have also showcased three AIFL Players of the Week since their inaugural game including James Branch, Charles Tynes and Chris Nunn.

The Erie Freeze also show great determination as they take to the turf in first place and feature two AIFL Players of the Week.

"As long as we can stop the big plays and continue to have success with our offense, we should be exciting to watch. We invite all the Tri-State out to see the action," Garry McPeek, Huntington Heroes head coach, said.

The game will also feature the unveiling of a certified hero in Huntington, the Huntington Heroes mascot. This new Huntington mascot will be accompanied by a very well known local character.

Tickets will go on sell at the Veterans Memorial Field House box office on Saturday at 2PM. For ticket information contact the Huntington Heroes at (304) 781-6800.
