Austin Aztex News Release

AUSTIN, Texas (www.austinaztex.com) - The Austin Aztex have signed a familiar face within the organization on Tuesday, as the team announced the signing of forward Kendell McFayden to a three-year deal.

McFayden's eight goals and 18 points more than doubled the next closest scorers on the Aztex PDL team in 2009 and placed him in the top 25 in the league in both categories.

"We're delighted to see yet another player from our PDL team sign a professional contract," Aztex President and Owner Phil Rawlins said. "Kendell has a lot of potential that we're hoping to see fulfilled with the Aztex."

A year prior to his career began with the Aztex, the forward played for Cascade, where he was the team's second leading goal scorer, which included three goals on his club's international tour.

McFayden currently attends Medaille College and has amassed a plethora of awards and accomplishments in his four years. Along with 42 career goals and 109 points, the Williamsville, N.Y., native was named an NSCAA All-American and Regional All-American, ECAC First-Team All-Star, three times AMCC First-Team All-Conference, and was twice named the AMCC Player of the Week. As a junior, he was also named an NSCAA Regional All-American and AMCC Conference Player of the Week.

The Medaille senior graduates in May and will join the Aztex immediately after.
