Aztex announce hiring of Chief Executive Officer Austin brings in former general manager of Minnesota Thunder to run day-to-day operations

The Austin Aztex today announced the appointment of Djorn Buchholz as Chief Executive Officer. Buchholz brings a wealth of USL-1 experience having worked with the Minnesota Thunder for the past six years. In his time with the Thunder he held senior positions in operations, media, sales and marketing before being appointed as the organization's general manager in 2005.

In his new role with the Aztex Buchholz will take responsibility for all aspects of the current business including marketing and sales, ticket sales, camps, operations and finance.

"The Board of Directors concluded the time was right to bring in a CEO. We are two years old as an organization and we are rapidly outgrowing our start-up phase. The company needs someone with experience to run the day-to-day operations, and I am absolutely delighted that we were able to attract someone of Djorn's capabilities to join us and help us move into the next phase of our growth," said President Phil Rawlins. "Djorn has done just about every conceivable job at the Thunder and that will stand him in great stead here with us. It means he understands not only soccer but also our business as a professional club. Djorn will take up his new position on November 9. I know all Aztex fans will join me in welcoming him to Texas."
