TAMPA, Fla. (www.austinaztex.com) -- In the first ever USSF D-2 Pro League game at George M. Steinbrenner Field at Tampa Bay, Austin came away with a 2-2 draw in a bruising battle that sent the Aztex to the top of the table on Saturday night.

A foul by Aztex goalkeeper Miguel Gallardo gave the Rowdies an early lead after Aaron King nailed the penalty kick resulting from the infraction in the 10th minute.

Eddie Johnson then knotted the score at 1 in the 28th after striking a free kick past a diving keeper after one of 16 fouls called on the Rowdies in the match.

A red card to Robert Valentino in the 58th gave the Aztex a one-man advantage for the remaining 30 minutes of the match that Jamie Watson capitalized on 19 minutes later after a foul in the box gave the Aztex their first penalty kick. However, the lead was short-lived as Jeremy Christie sent in the equalizer on another penalty kick minutes before time expired on the match.

With the point gained from the draw, the Aztex moved into a tie with Portland in the table at 10 points.

Austin's next two matches are at home on the 16th and 19th of May against Crystal Palace Baltimore and then a rematch with the Rowdies.
