LAKE CHARLES, La. (May 27, 2009) - Austin Turfcats DL Kevin Earvine has garnered his second SIFL VIDSWAP.com player of the week award by virtue of his performance and fan vote.

Earvine had three tackles for loss - one a sack - in Austin's 38-20 victory over the Texas Pirates Saturday. In the weekly fan vote, he outdistanced teammate Darrick Wallace as well as quarterback Alvin Bartie and kicker Tommy Hebert of the Louisiana Swashbucklers.

Earvine was named player of the week during the SIFL's second week of play and also received the Hooters co-defensive player of the quarter along with Acadiana's Kimmee Lewis. Earvine is second in the SIFL with four sacks.

Each SIFL game has four MVPs for offensive, defensive, line and special teams. Two game MVPS are selected for balloting for the league-wide MVP by fans at the official league website at www.southernifl.com.

Austin (4-1) travels to face Texas (1-3) while the Louisiana Swashbucklers (4-1) host the Acadiana Mudbugs (3-1) in week seven of the SIFL's inaugural season.
