TRAVERSE CITY - While the Traverse City North Stars are piling up wins in the early offing of the 2009-10 NAHL campaign, a pair of Stars players have added to the coffers.

Eric McLintock, who had three goals and two assists in Friday's 7-2 win over Marquette at Centre ICE arena, landed North Division Player of the Week honors for his efforts, while fellow forward Andy Huff was named a "player to watch" by National Hockey League Central Scouting in its official evaluation of draft-eligible prospects.

McLintock (Traverse City, MI/TC North Stars) leads the North Stars with 17 points through 15 contests, including eight goals and seven assists. Four of his assists came on the power play to go along with a pair of man-up tallies.

"Eric has shown great leadership this season and been very versatile for us," said North Stars head coach/GM Anthony Palumbo. "He played the right wing on Saturday then moved to center on Sunday afternoon. Eric a career game on Saturday and was a force all weekend."

Huff (Howell, MI/Honeybaked U18), who is tied for the league lead with 12 goals this season, was among 13 NAHL players recognized on the NHL's watchlist for the 2010 entry draft next spring. He is a 'B'-rated player, which identifies him as a 'player to note if a scout is in the area, a potential selection in the third-to-fifth round.'

"He's been an impact player for us from day one," Palumbo. "He has the ability to shoot the puck from all areas of the ice and score. With his size (6-2, 210 lbs.) and skill, I can see why people regard him so highly. Andy definitely has the ability to continue to be a consistent scorer in our league and at the next level."

Huff has levied five power play goals, is a +10, and has banked a pair of game-winning markers this season. He also has five multiple- point outings in the first 15 games.

McLintock, Huff, and the rest of the North Stars have the weekend off before returning to action in a two-game series against Alpena on Nov. 6-7. The opener is set for Northern Lights Arena on the shores of Lake Huron before the series adjourns to Centre ICE arena the following night.
