August 14, 2007 - American Basketball Association (ABA) News Release
Question from Ryan C, Detroit: "When will we officially be able to sign up for the ABA games that will be webcast this year?"
Answer: Ryan. Thanks for the question. The response to the news about the webcasts has been tremendous. We knew that there was great interest in the ABA and its unique rules which make the game very fast, very high-scoring and very exciting. And we are very pleased that the ABA will have worldwide exposure thanks to our live webcasts of ABA action through PlayON Sports, a division of Turner Broadcasting. What we're asking fans to do now is to Click the PlayON banner on the ABA website (www.abalive.com) and fill in the form. It is not an order form, just an information form. We will then contact each person individually with the exact details of the program and the various plans that will be available, including individual games, monthly plans, and season plans. One thing you can be sure of, like the ABA, it will be fan-friendly and affordable - what we believe will be the best sports and entertainment value available anywhere. If you have a question, please email Joe Newman, ABA CEO at conniejoenewman@aol.com.
Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
