Armada Announces 2009 Schedule

The Long Beach Armada schedule for the 2009 season has arrived!!! The Fleet is preparing for a great season as we celebrate our 5th year in Long Beach, so join us out at Blair Field to celebrate all summer long with exciting baseball and family fun.

After beginning the season with a two-week road trip including several international series in Canada and Mexico, the Long Beach Armada open at home on Tuesday, June 9 against the Tijuana Potros (June 9-11). Be at Blair Field on Opening Night to help welcome the Potros to the Golden Baseball League. The first of three home series against Tijuana kicks off nine straight nights of baseball at Blair Field before the team travels north to face North Division rivals Chico and Edmonton.

The Fleet returns home on Friday, June 26 for the first showdown with the Southern California rival and defending GBL champion Orange County Flyers (June 26-28).

The Armada once again host Tijuana (June 30 - July 3) before making its only trip to Tucson (July 4-6). The Fleet finish the 1st Half of the season with a home series against the Chico Outlaws (July 7-9) in a rematch of the 2007 GBL Championship.

The Armada - the 2nd Half South Division Champions in 2008 - start the 2nd Half of 2009 hosting another new GBL team, the Tucson Toros (July 10-12). After a road trip to Tijuana (July 16-19), Long Beach returns to port for nine games in 10 days against the St. George Roadrunners (July 21-23), Orange County Flyers (July 24-26), and Yuma Scorpions (July 28-30).

Following two weeks on the road, the Armada return home for the final regular season series against Tijuana (August 11-13). TJ's third visit to Blair Field begins another stretch of nine games in 10 days, including series against Yuma (August 14-16) and St. George (August 18-20).

The Long Beach Armada wrap up the 2009 regular season by welcoming back the teams first manager as Darrell Evans leads his expansion Victoria Seals to Blair Field (August 28-31) for their only visit of the summer.

With so much great baseball to look forward to - 44 home games in 2009 - don't delay in reserving your seat.
