Dallas Renegades News Release
Arlington, Texas - The Arlington Renegades today announced that defensive lineman Bruce Hector has signed an NFL contract with the New York Jets. Hector was one of three XFL players to sign an NFL contract today, along with Houston Roughnecks defensive lineman Chuck Wiley (Cleveland Browns) and Vegas Vipers linebacker Pita Taumoepenu (New York Jets).
With today's signings, 48 XFL players have signed NFL contracts since the conclusion of the 2023 season in May. Hector is the third Arlington Renegades player to sign an NFL contract, along with linebacker Willie Taylor (Jacksonville Jaguars) and defensive back Darren Evans (New York Giants). If the players return to the XFL, they will resume with their former teams.
Hector, 28, appeared in all 12 games during the Renegades' run to the 2023 XFL Championship, totaling 16 tackles and one forced fumble during the 10-game regular season. He logged 9 tackles over 2 postseason games, including a season-high 7 stops and 0.5 sack in the XFL South Division Championship Game at Houston. The Tampa, FL native and South Florida graduate has 14 games of NFL experience with the Philadelphia Eagles (2018-19) and Detroit Lions (2021).
