TERRIFIC TUESDAY: The Scorpions will host the Javelinas in Scottsdale, the Solar Sox travel to Peoria to play the Saguaros and the Rafters face the Desert Dogs in Phoenix. All three Arizona Fall League games today will begin at 1:05 p.m. Each team will play 38 games and the winners of the two divisions will meet in a one-game championship on November 20th at Scottsdale Stadium.
MONDAY'S RECAPS
Hot Dogs: A late three-run rally by the Grand Canyon Rafters was not enough as the Phoenix Desert Dogs won 11-8 in a battle of the National Division. Kansas City Royals' prospect Donald Murphy gave a perfect 4-for-4 performance including a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. The game was won in the fifth inning when the Desert Dogs sent 11 batters to the plate. They scored six runs on six hits, with two walks, a sacrifice fly and a sacrifice bunt. Casey Smith (ANA) and Ryan Howard (PHI) had three hits apiece. Smith scored once while Howard drove in two and scored twice.
Down to the Wire: Down by one run in the bottom of the ninth the Peoria Javelinas scored two runs for a walk-off win before Scottsdale could record an out. A solo home run by leadoff hitter Ben Johnson (SD) tied the game at eight, and a single by Ryan Garko (CLE) scored Paul McAnulty (SD) for the game's winning run. Four different Peoria players had multiple hit games. McAnulty went 3-for-5, Garko finished 2-for-5, designated hitter Mike Huggins (BAL) went 2-for-4 and Jason Cooper (CLE) went 2-for-4.
Delmon Delivers: Delmon Young's (TB) tenth inning single scored pinch runner Joey Gathright (TB) and gave the Mesa Solar Sox a 4-3 win over the Peoria Saguaros. Young finished the day 2-for-5 and his Mesa teammate Chris Duncan (STL) was 3-for-5, finishing a home run shy of the cycle.

Two for Wednesday: Wednesday, October 27th the Peoria Saguaros and the Grand Canyon Rafters will play a double header due to the rainout on October 21st. The first game will begin at 12:05 pm at Scottsdale Stadium. The games will be seven innings each.
ASU Baseball and the AFL: The Arizona Fall League and ASU Baseball have teamed up for the Rafters-Scorpions game on Friday, October 29th at Scottsdale Stadium. The Fall League will pay tribute to the ASU baseball team as they will be in attendance to sign autographs. Show your ASU spirit and receive $1.00 off admission to the game.
Around the Corner: The Fall League will give away 100 Richie Sexson Bobblehead Dolls October 29th at Scottsdale Stadium. Winners will be selected through a lucky number drawing for all fans in attendance.
Coming Attraction Garret Anderson: The Arizona Fall League continues its tradition of honoring former player and managers by inducting them into the Hall of Fame. Garret Anderson will be in attendance for the Scorpions-Rafters game on Friday, October 29th at Scottsdale Stadium. The induction ceremony will take place prior to the start of the 7:05 pm game.
In Honor of Tony Peña, Sr.: The Arizona Fall League continues its tradition of honoring former player and managers by inducting them into the Hall of Fame. Tony Peña, Sr. will be in attendance for the Saguaros-Scorpions game on Wednesday, November 3rd at Scottsdale Stadium. The induction ceremony will take place prior to the start of the 7:05 pm game.
