Argenis Diaz Drives in Three as JetHawks Defeat Storm

(LAKE ELSINORE, CA) - The road continues to bring salvation to the JetHawks. Responding to getting swept at home by High Desert, the JetHawks played very well opening a three game series in Lake Elsinore. The JetHawks took a five run lead early and strong pitching from three different pitchers as they earned their first win of the second half, defeating Lake Elsinore 7-3.

The JetHawks scored their first run in the opening inning thanks to a double by Jason Place, but they opened up the game in the second. Argenis Diaz doubled in two runs. Place then doubled in Diaz and Jorge Jimenez doubled in Place to give Lancaster a 5-0 advantage.

Tony Bajoczky gave the JetHawks a solid performance in the start. The right-hander earned his third win by allowing just three runs in six innings. Bryce Cox and Brian Steinocher finished the game by hurling three innings without allowing a run.

Diaz led the offense with two hits, driving in three runs in the process. Place had a pair of doubles, Jorge Jimenez had two hits, and Aaron Reza had two hits, including a triple.

The JetHawks continue a three-game road trip Friday night in Lake Elsinore. Adam Mills (7-4) starts for Lancaster while Cesar Carillo (0-1) will start for the Storm. The game begins at 7:08 PM. The JetHawks Pre-Game Show on Magic 1340 AM and online at www.JetHawks.com will begin at 6:53.
