ArenaCup coming to Bossier-Shreveport

BOSSIER CITY, La. - The first neutral-site ArenaCup championship game in arenafootball2 (af2) history will be played at the CenturyTel Center In Bossier City, Louisiana on August 26, 27 or 28 the af2 league office announced today.

"We are pleased to bring the 2005 ArenaCup to the Bossier-Shreveport community," said af2 President Jerry Kurz. "This event will be an experience like no other for af2 and its fans."

"We're honored for the opportunity to host af2's premier event," said Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings managing operator Dan Newman. "Our community is excited for the chance to showcase all that this area has to offer, and I know that fans from across the country will be treated to a super party."

Prior to this season, the ArenaCup game was always held at the venue of the participating team with best overall record. By bringing the game to the CenturyTel Center, the ArenaCup attendance record of 9,210 is expected to fall. Seating capacity at the CenturyTel center for football games is 12,500.

Ticket information for the 2005 ArenaCup will be announced soon.
