Arena Football League Names Stuart Layne New CMO/CRO

TULSA- The Arena Football League today formally announced the hiring of long-time sports marketing and media veteran Stuart Layne as their new Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer. Layne had been President and Founder of his own sports and entertainment marketing agency, Seven 2 Sports Marketing, for most of the past 8 years. The prior 12 plus years Layne had been the senior marketing and sales executive with the Seattle Mariners and Boston Celtics.

As it prepares for its 24th season, Arena Football will have a 19 team league after adding expansion franchises in Kansas City, Philadelphia, Pittsburg and San Jose. Layne will be responsible for generating league-wide interest and revenue as well as supporting team marketing and sales initiatives.

"His national media background, success in corporate sponsorship development and his many years as a major league sports team marketer provides the league with a valuable resource on many levels."

After 24 years as a sales and marketing executive in sports and communications, including CBS Television Network Sales, Stuart Layne's Seven 2 Sports created integrated marketing strategies for clients and organizations such as; the Indiana Pacers, Celtics legend Bill Russell, Regan Communications-Boston, the National Corporate Theater Fund and recently team sports solutions for ClickSquared, one of the world's leading digital database marketing companies. From December 2006 through January 2008 Layne served as Publisher of 'Metro-Boston' which became the number two daily newspaper in Boston.

A native New Yorker, Layne graduated from the Newhouse School at Syracuse University and spent 12 years in broadcasting before marketing the Seattle Mariners. After 4 years with CBS Radio and TV Network sales in New York and Chicago, Layne joined Emmis Broadcasting, where he managed radio stations in St. Louis, Minneapolis, and New York City.
