
Apex Sportstainment acquires Utah Eagles

ALBANY, NY (NOVEMBER 24, 2006) - The Continental Basketball Association announced today that Apex Sportstainment has acquired the Utah Eagles and will operate the franchise for the 2006-07 season. The Utah Eagles infrastructure will remain the same with Scott Fields continuing as head coach, Don Sellers remains as an assistant coach and Derrick Pearson will handle all media requirements. The Eagles open their first season of play at the Salt Lake City Community College, home of the annual Rocky Mountain Review NBA Summer League, on December 1 when they host the Minot Skyrockets.
"We are happy to be able to bring the Utah Eagles into the Apex Sportstainment family," said Joe Clark, Apex Sportstainment CEO. "We looked at all the progress the Utah Eagles were making and decided that we wanted them to become apart of our organization. Scott Fields and Don Sellers have done an outstanding job in regards to basketball operations. The sponsors we have on board are excited about Apex Sportstainment and what we bring to the table and we will bringing in many more in the next few days."

The CBA Board of Directors has given their support for this move and will continue to support the efforts of the Utah Eagles and all of its member franchises."
The CBA recently completed its 60th anniversary season on March 27 with the Yakama Sun Kings defeating the Gary Steelheads in a best-of-three-game series. That series featured the CBA's 2006 Player of the Year, Anthony Goldwire (Sun Kings), and the CBA's 2006 Coach of the Year, Jaren Jackson (Steelheads).
