
Another week, another fair for the IceHogs

Rockford, Ill.- Summer is beginning to wind down, but the Rockford IceHogs are starting to heat up as they ready themselves for the upcoming 2006-07 season. This weekend IceHogs fans will have a couple of opportunities to see the IceHogs including at the Winnebago County Fair in Pecatonica.
The IceHogs are at the Winnebago County Fair through Sunday, Aug. 20. Fans that stop by the IceHogs booth can pick up information on ticket packages for the upcoming season, learn how they can purchase tickets for Opening Night before they go on sale to the general public and sign up to win prizes from the Hogs including a replica road IceHogs jersey.
Fair time is from noon until 9 p.m. daily. The IceHogs booth is located in Moss Hall, the main exhibit building by Entrance Gate 1. Other prizes available include a set of four tickets to the IceHogs Opening Night tilt against the Fort Wayne Komets on Friday, Oct. 13 and a Runts Kids Club Membership (for kids 12 and under.)
On Saturday, Aug. 19 the IceHogs will be at "Best Cheeseburger in Paradise" at Shooters North. Grilling begins at noon on Saturday and fans attending can hang out and take in some great music from Margaritaville Island and the reggae band "Yard". A $5 donation at the gate will help benefit the Northern Illinois Food bank. The IceHogs will also have a table at the event and fans can sign up for prizes courtesy of the Hogs. Shooters North is located at 7742 Forest Hills Rd. in Loves Park.
Then on Sunday, the IceHogs will be celebrating with St. Stanislaus Parish at their 25th Annual Polish Fest. There will be music, rides, games, raffles, exhibits, bingo and dancing from 11 a.m. until dusk. Admission is free and fans can stop by the IceHogs table to register to win Opening Night Tickets.
Another round of the IceHogs online auction is underway and fans can bid on a pair of game-worn jerseys from last season. An autographed Jason Ralph game-worn home jersey and goaltender Ronnie Vogel's game-worn alternate Hammer jersey (also autographed) are on the block this week.
Other items up for bid include an autographed hockey puck signed by defenseman Ryan Carrigan and Carrigan's lockerroom name plate, also with his signature on it. The auction, which is conducted on the IceHogs official Web site, www.icehogs.com, will close on Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 9 p.m.
