Norfolk Nighthawks News Release
NORFOLK, Nov. 14, 2002 -- Former Nighthawk Abdul Azziz Shabazz Wiggins has signed a contract with the Buffalo Destroyers of the Arena Football League. Abdul Wiggins played 2 1/2 seasons with the Nighthawks as a offensive and defensive lineman. Wiggins is the seventh Nighthawks player to sign a contract with the Arena League.
"Wiggins is a tireless worker and as strong as any player I've seen in af2." said Nighthawks General Manager and Co-Owner Ken Easley.
"The first season he was with the team he commuted daily from his residence in North Carolina for practices and games," said Easley. "If there was ever anyone committed to the game, Abdul is that person. He is justly reaping the rewards of his efforts."
Other Nighthawks players to sign Arena League contracts include Charles Butler Jr, Chris Avery, Silas Demary, Jason Waters, Chris Pointer and Damon Scott.
Wiggins came to the Nighthawks with one year of experience. He attended Chowan College and he played offensive and defensive lineman while with the Nighthawks.
