Frisco, TX: The Intense Football League is proud to announce it's newest franchise, The Frisco Thunder. With the assistance from key community businesses, Steve Viken, owner of The Frisco Thunder proudly revealed the team name, logo, and colors in front of a large crowd at the Frisco Chamber of Commerce Breakfast.

"This is a great day for the City of Frisco, the Intense Football League and The Frisco Thunder. We are all very proud to make this announcement and excited to be apart of this growing community." stated Mr. Viken team owner

The Frisco Thunder will host the colors of forest green and vegas gold and can be viewed at www.thefriscothunder.com.

Jon Loudermilk, the head coach of The Frisco Thunder spoke to the group prior to the announcement about community involvement, the excitement of the game, and his passion for building a championship team. Dustin Almond (Southern Miss), the team quarterback was also in attendance and recieved an ovation from the crowd when introduced. Dustin (Almond) was a standout quarterback for four seasons at the University of Southern Mississippi before finding a home in Frisco. While at USM, Dustin was key to leading his team to four bowl games in four years and broke many records at a university known for producing great quarterbacks.

"My mission is simple, character and success. We are bringing in athletes that perform at a high level on and off the field. One thing is for sure, this program will never settle or be satisfied. Determined is a word that will describe us." said Coach Loudermilk

The Intense Football League is made up of nine franchises in Anchorage , Alaska , Lake Charles , Louisiana , and seven Texas cities including Belton, Corpus Christi , El Paso (2008), Katy, Odessa , San Angelo , and now Frisco. The teams compete in a 14 game schedule beginning in April with The Frisco Thunder calling the Dr. Pepper Star Center home.
