Anaheim Bolts News Release
Anaheim, CA- (December 3)- The Anaheim Bolts used a late surge to advance to the second round of the US Open Arena Cup with a 15-7 victory over Docemas.
The Bolts raced out to a 5-0 but Docemas fought their way back to 5-3 on the stroke of halftime. It seemed to be the same old story for the Bolts, racing out to an early lead only to let their opponents back into the match.
The Bolts made sure not to let history repeat itself and used a fourth quarter blitz to pull away from a pesky Docemas side. The Bolts held a 9-7 lead late into the fourth quarter, but exploded for six goals to flatter the score-line.
"I told the guys at half-time that we can't squander another lead," head coach Bernie Lilavois said. "I think tonight we turned the page.
Hugo Casillas struck four goals and Tomislav Colic struck a hat trick. Adriano De Lima scored just once on a shootout but recorded an astonishing seven assists.
Tyler Reinhart paced Docemas with four goals while Eric Cross added two more.
The Bolts finished the weekend with two wins, scoring 27 goals in the process.
Anaheim (1-2 in the PASL) now hits the road for two league matches next weekend against the Phoenix Monsoon.
The Bolts will be back home on December 18 to take on the Tacoma Stars. Good tickets are still available by going to www.boltsoccer.com or by calling 714-321-9898.
