Anaheim Bolts News Release
Anaheim, CA- The Anaheim Bolts will meet the San Diego Sockers for the second time in a week when the two teams square of at the Del Mar Arena Saturday night at 7:05 P.M. PST.
The Bolts fell to the Sockers 10-6 in their inaugural Professional Arena Soccer League match last Saturday, but led the two time PASL champions 6-5 midway through the fourth quarter. This time around, the task will be even harder as the Bolts will be playing their first ever match away from the Anaheim Convention Center Arena.
The visitors will be guided on the road by experience as Paul Wright will make his Anaheim debut against the city and team that made him an indoor soccer legend. The 42-year-old was a late scratch from the line-up in the first meeting, but he is primed to start on Saturday. Despite his age, Wright still has blazing speed and plenty of tricks in his arsenal.
Other players that Head Coach Bernie Lilavois will be counting on to step up are Enrique Tovar (scorer of the first ever goal in Bolts history), Hugo Casillas (two goals in the opener), and Marcus Watson (a tenacious defender who chipped in with one assist on the offensive end).
If Anaheim is to stop the two time champions, they will need to figure out how to contain Kraig Chiles. The reigning league MVP struck a hat trick and added two assists in the fourth quarter as San Diego pulled away. The other questions that need to be addressed are how to contain the speed of the PASL's fastest man Brian Farber while making sure that Hawaiian sharpshooter Majell Aterado is covered anywhere within 60 feet of goal.
The San Diego Sockers will begin the evening by raising the 12th championship banner in the clubs storied history. After that, the Bolts are looking to ruin the party and notch their first ever win in the PASL while evening up the I-5 series in the process.
