April 20, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
New Mexico United News Release
(RENO, Nevada) Reno 1868 FC defeated New Mexico United, 2:1, at Greater Nevada Field. In the 89th minute, Duke Lacroix slotted home the goal that would end New Mexico United's seven-game undefeated streak.
NM United had their looks. In the 12th minute, Kevaughn Frater's sneaky footwork, led to a shot on goal that Reno's Goalkeeper, James Marcinkowski couldn't wrangle. Chris Wehan quickly attacked the rebound, but pushed it just wide. 21 minutes later, Santi Moar tested Reno's man between the sticks and Marcinkowski made a stellar save.
Albuquerque's own Sergio Rivas notched Reno 1868 FC's first goal in the 28th minute. In the 39th New Mexico United's Josh Suggs equalized with a left-footed rocket from outside the box. It took an hour for the winner to come. Lacroix's 89th minute curler snuck past the fingertips of NM United Goalkeeper, Cody Mizell, and the visitors could not find an equalizer in the little time that remained.
Up next for New Mexico United is an April 26th home match against Portland Timbers 2.

The run leading up to Josh Suggs' goal is just as impressive as the finish. The New Mexico United captain surged forward following a lovely ball from Guzman, and crushed in a powerful goal.
