Rochester Americans defenseman Jason Garrison is this week's featured player on Amerks.com in the seventh installment of the team's summer player profiles. Garrison completed his second season with Rochester in 2009-10, scoring three goals and 16 assists for 19 points while finishing third on the team with plus-13 on-ice rating. The 25-year-old also received six NHL recalls from the Florida Panthers, where he collected eight points (2+6) and 23 penalty minutes with the big club, including his first NHL goal against the Philadelphia Flyers on March 3rd. He was most impressive during the 2010 Calder Cup Playoffs, finishing second on the team in postseason scoring and eighth among league blueliners with nine points (2+7) in seven games.
A native of White Rock, British Columbia, Garrison has skated in 113 career American Hockey League games with the Amerks , notching 54 points (11+43). In his pro career, including 40 National Hockey League contests with the Florida Panthers, the 6-foot-0, 205-pound blueliner has compiled 62 points (13+49) and 124 penalty minutes in 153 appearances.
